We are a registered charity and membership organisation, that has been operating for over 50 years, working for the protection of the wildlife habitats and species in the old county of Brecknock (now the southern third of Powys).
Our purpose is to:
"Lead the way in achieving our vision"

"An environment rich in wildlife for everyone"
through pursuing our mission of
"Creating Living Landscapes and securing Living Seas"
We will do this by:
"Being passionate leaders and natural partners"
Whose objectives are to:
- Demonstrate how nature works
- Inspire people and communities to value and take action for nature
- Champion nature and our work
and to enable this by:
- Growing our resources through inspiring people to value our work
- Knowledge sharing, cooperation, flexibility and effectiveness
- Ensuring excellent governance
How we do it:
- Managing over 20 nature reserves for the benefit of wildlife and for people to visit.
- Initiating and participating in both county and Wales wide conservation projects
- Species monitoring
- Habitat surveys
- Providing advice to landowners
- Participating in community initiatives that benefit the environment
- Operating a children's wildlife club - Watch
- Organising events for education and awareness
