Tuesday 27th CHANGE OF EVENT

Reserve Work Party: Hay cut and rake at BWT Cae Pwll y Bo Nature Reserve, near Abergwesyn. Help us to cut and rake the hay to keep this nationally important wildflower meadow at its best. Meet at Cae Pwll y Bo nature reserve, LD5 4TW (Grid ref SN 854 512). 10.15am - 3.30pm. Also, if there is time after we will undertake a marsh fritillary larval web survey at BWT Vicarage Meadows Nature Reserve, just up the road from Cae Pwll y Bo. Tuesday 27th

WALK: Woodland Fungi A guided walk in the Cwmgiedd Forest, taking in the areas fungi and river life along this woodland walk. Meeting Place: Well-being Centre. Booking is essential. Free transport from Ystradgynlais town can be provided. Please dress appropriately for weather conditions, including good sturdy footwear and bring a bottle of water. Start 10.30am. Wednesday 28th

TALK & WALK: History and wildlife of Ystradfawr nature reserve, Welfare Hall in Ystradgynlais. Discover Ystradfawr Nature reserve through this interesting talk on its history and wildlife. This former colliery contains many historical features and a variety of interesting and rare wildlife. Talk is followed by a guided walk through Ystradfawr. Refreshments provided. Approx. 2 Miles. OCTOBER

Tuesday 4th

Extra Work Party: Hay cut and rake at Vincent Wildlife Trust's Pencelli Mill, Pencelli. We will be mowing and raking off the grass from this small orchard owned by Vincent Wildlife Trust. The mill itself is a roost site for lesser horseshoe bats. Parking is limited to a few cars on site, if full please park up in village and walk back. Please do not park immediately outside site on road as it is narrow here. It should be a shorter day than usual, please bring lunch and a bag to collect apples & sloes if there are any left. LD3 7LX (SO 090 253). 10.15am - 2pm approx. Reserve Work Party: Pond Clearance at Ystradfawr Nature Reserve. Pond clearance to improve habitat for amphibian and reptile species. In partnership with Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (ARC). Tuesday 11th

Reserve Work Party: Hay cut and rake at BWT The Byddwn, Pen y Waun and Trewalkin Meadow Nature Reserves, around Brecon. We will be cutting and raking the hay at these three small meadow sites to benefit the wildflowers and other wildlife they support. Sunday 16th

Apple Tasting & Pick Your Own

Come and visit this collection of local and rare apple varieties set up and cared for by the Marcher Apple Network. A leisurely tour of the orchard tasting apples and learning about the history, ecology and care of the trees. Bring your own pen knife and plastic bags for taking some home. EVENT:Wildlife Spooktacular with Brecknock Museum and Art Galleries.10am -4pm. Brecon Library Art and Craft fun and bat-related half term indoor activities for children!

Sunday 30th

EVENT: Wild About Gardens. Join us and learn about how you can make your garden a little wilder and more attractive to all sorts of wonderful wildlife. Suitable for all ages. 2-4pm. Followed by WALK: Guided Bat Walk. at Ystradfawr Nature Reserve, where we hope to catch a glimpse of these magnificent creature, and hear their calls on our bat detectors too!
