Head to the Valley: Cefn Coed, Merthyr Tydfil. Head to the valley. An energetic circular walk taking in Cwm Taf Fechan and Darren Fawr nature reserves on the edge of Merthyr Tydfil where Brecknock meets South Wales Wildlife Trust. A day walk of less than 10 miles, easy pace on and off paths with stops to look at wildlife. Wear outdoor gear including good walking boots. Enjoy this lovely 8 mile walk through pretty woodland and farmland to the open common of Rhos Fawr for fine views of the surrounding countryside, before returning to Talgarth via the ancient and secluded woodland of Pwll-y-Wrach (The Witches Pool) on this super low level circular route.
